Four easy steps to transform your lovely country cottage into a stately London mansion!
1.Doolin--BusEirean)--2.Shannon--(Ryanair)--3.Luton--(LutonExpress)--4.London
We arrived in London well rested from our trip in the country. The sheer size of London always impresses (and perplexes) me. If we had such a time trying to find our hostel in lil Dublin, can you imagine Londontown? Luckily we were dropped us off only a few blocks from our hostel. We pulled our bags up the hill past the Freud Museum to Swiss Cottage Rd.
The hostel was quite lovely. Palmer's Lodge was the former home of Samuel Palmer, of the Huntley and Palmer's biscuit empire. It was built in 1880 and only recently renovated into a boutique backpackers hostel. I couldn't believe the price (only £9 per night). It was only a few stops from Picadilly or Westminster stops. I had unlimited (but weak) free WiFi in my room or in the TV room. The complimentary breakfast was served by people in uniform with mocha or espresso and skyNews on the side.
It all didn't make sense, it was as if we were in a hotel!
Then I discovered why.. It had only been opened for 2 weeks. Can you imagine our luck! We had such great service for an unbeatable price! Ahh, what I would give to have those duvets on my bed.
I've recently gone back to www.hostels.com and discovered that the prices have nearly doubled!
